About Nurse Injector Treatments

Our nurse injector treatments include neuromodulators, biostimulators, dermal fillers, and regenerative treatments, which target different challenges to rejuvenate the face.

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport are minimally invasive injectables that temporarily relax muscles to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. These three neuromodulators use botulinum toxin as the active ingredient. This temporarily blocks the transmission of acetylcholine to the nerves that create facial wrinkles. This keeps them in a semi-permanent relaxed state, reducing wrinkles by reducing contractions. On average, results last three to four months, but patients can prolong their smoother, more youthful appearance with touch-up injections. (1)

Biostimulators

Biostimulators such as Sculptra trigger the body’s natural collagen and elastin production to build volume. These treatments take a gradual approach to restoring firmness, enhancing texture, and reducing wrinkles for longer-lasting and more natural-looking results. Sculptra is an FDA-approved formula that plumps the face by filling in depressed areas around the face to boost collagen levels and maintain healthier-looking skin. (2) Biostimulators revitalize your skin and increase collagen production levels for up to two years.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Bellafill contain powerful ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and polymethyl methacrylate microspheres to retain moisture, reduce scarring, stimulate collagen synthesis, and enhance facial volume. (3) These treatments target various areas of the face, such as the cheeks, under-eyes, temples, lips, and more. Their results can last six months to a year or longer.

Regenerative Treatments

Regenerative treatments such as microneedling and microneedling with exosomes and PDRN can soften visible signs of aging, restore skin elasticity, and strengthen the skin barrier. (4) The addition of exosomes can improve tone and texture and reduce scar formation, while PDRN integrates the natural regenerative properties of salmon DNA to repair and improve skin health. (5) Results from these treatments are often gradual as skin repair is an ongoing process.

Preparation

Effectively preparing for your nurse injector treatment(s) ensures a smooth outcome and faster-appearing results. Dr. Bachelor or Tracy Walthour, RN, BSN may advise you to:

  • Avoid harsh skincare products such as retinoids, exfoliants, and chemical peels
  • Cease the use of nicotine products
  • Avoid alcohol consumption prior to treatment
  • Stay hydrated and use moisturizers
  • Pause blood-thinning medication or supplements
  • Arrive with a clean face free of makeup, lotions, or sunscreen

Procedure

At the start of your selected injection treatment, your Dr. Bachelor or Tracy Walthour, RN, BSN, will begin by reviewing your treatment plan and reconfirming the details for your desired results. If you are receiving an injection, they may first apply a topical anesthetic. This is not necessary for all injections, as many are considered to be very tolerable and/or contain lidocaine in their formula to enhance patient comfort. Patients may request additional numbing if they have extra-sensitive skin.

The injector will carefully mark precise injection points to ensure accuracy during the injection process.

They will then administer your selected injection(s) to your areas of concern. As they do this, they will pay special attention to volume balance and symmetry. If necessary, they will massage the injections to ensure a smooth, even distribution without any lumps.

If you undergo a microneedling procedure, your treatment will look a little different. You will first receive a topical anesthetic, and then Dr. Bachelor or Tracy Walthour, RN, BSN, will gently maneuver the microneedling device over the treatment area, evenly creating micropunctures in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural repair process, which promotes collagen and elastin production. Following this, they can apply an exosome or PDRN solution, allowing it to reach deep into the skin through the newly created microchannels.

Support Your Results

The secret to achieving long-lasting results with your nurse injector treatment is an optimal daily skincare routine. Our specialists can help you design a routine that works for your skin and lifestyle, often including sunscreen, cleansers, moisturizers, and more. It’s also best to avoid excessive sun exposure.
